Today’s view of the Z44 site. The amount of steel rods that are continuously being transported to site and lifted to the top floors is astounding. The terrace you can see here is where the proformas are made and the steel collected together into bundles to attach to the crane. Quite a safety hazard to be walking around this area all day.
To the bottom right of the frame, another piece of the facade has been fixed to the concrete structure, albeit still covered in plastic wrap. These ’testers’ will be needed around the facade to ensure the spacings are exact. I wonder how many of these will be required to cover the entire building? And when they will start manufacturing them in earnest?
As of today, they are constructing the 29th floor, which means there are only 23 to go….

Interesting to see this come together. I remember you saying sometime that you expected to see the ‘twist’ start to appear soon. I was talking with someone involved in the design and he said that the ‘twist’ is mostly a matter of the facade anyway so I guess we will have to wait . . .
